Kenya develops a New Education Reform that will facilitate competency of education programs (checkout)
The introduction of a competency-based curriculum began in the year 2017 in Kenya. There was a need to shift from the result-based curriculum, which would not implement the talents and skills of the pupils. The main aim was to make the learners develop new communication models, collaborate among themselves, and develop critical thinking.
The reforms were mainly based on ECDE and primary education. There was a need to introduce junior secondary, which never existed before. This is the next level of education where the education news hub is going to be focused more and bring out the benefits of the education reform introduction.
The focus of the Ministry of Education is to strengthen the education system that will uphold the skills and talents of learners to fit the existing opportunities.
Kenya Education and Management Institute is partnering with the ministry of education to bring collaboration on how the competency-based curriculum will be implemented. Learning is a continuous process where learners can gain skills continuously until they are fit for society.
The blended education system (CBC) reform will show the capacity of learners towards achieving their future dreams. It is a long-term vision. All the education stakeholders beginning from those of the Ministry of Education, Kenya Education and Management Institute, Non-Governmental Organizations, and others have the goal of providing Kenyan children with a competency that will enable them to succeed in life.
