In recent years, computer subject was taught only in national schools which pay a high amount of money. Integration of ICT in secondary school plays a critical role in developing a harmonized program that will facilitate development rollout in the field of technology.

The Ministry of Education through all its key stakeholders is looking forward to introducing computer subject as one of the technical subjects to facilitate the learners get the required skills that are in line with Kenya’s vision 2030 goals. The integration of ICT into learning and teaching will cover various policy frameworks that the government intends in producing learners who are literate in ICT skills in the modern world. The government itself takes education as a natural sustainable knowledge that through the provision of ICT to secondary schools’ learners can graduate with the relevant and dynamic skills from the tool of teaching. Through learning computer subject, learners and teachers can get integrated and self-centered skills that will tend to take the economy ahead. Digital skills are important as they will enable learners to exploit the world of information effectively through knowledge crafted on the ICT platforms. The former Jubilee government’s decision to introduce tablets and laptops to school children was one of the reforms that the government had come up with to instill knowledge as early as possible. The teachers and learners would interact with the curriculum under the lured technology. This was one way of instilling technology knowledge in the learners towards enhancing sustainable development. Interestingly, more teachers with knowledge of computer science will be recruited by TSC to work under this new initiative to facilitate the learning process. According to the ministry of education, the learners will be introduced to:
Basic Computer Skills Microsoft Word Microsoft Excel Microsoft Access Windows Introduction Microsoft PowerPoint Publisher Studies Etc.
Here is an encouragement to all parents to enroll their children in schools where computer studies are taught as the main subject to facilitate them getting new skills in ICT. The world is transforming progressively, hence the need for new skills in computer studies.
